FAQ

Common launch questions.

How do I save a recipe from another app?

Open the cooking video, tap Share, and choose ReciReel — the import starts right away. If ReciReel is not visible, tap More in the iOS share sheet and add ReciReel once.

Can I paste a link instead?

Yes. Open ReciReel, tap Import Recipe, and paste the supported source link. ReciReel does the rest.

What sources are supported?

ReciReel is focused on supported public cooking video links from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. Generic pages, private posts, deleted posts, unsupported source shapes, and links without enough cooking evidence may fail.

Why did an import fail?

Common causes include private posts, deleted posts, unsupported non-video surfaces, platform access limits, a source with too little recipe detail, or a temporary AI processing failure.

What happens when I import?

ReciReel may send the shared source link, text, caption, video, or frames to Google Gemini to build the recipe. ReciReel does not send your account, library, notes, Apple ID, or purchase data to Gemini.

How do free imports work?

Free includes 3 starter imports total. After that, you get 1 new import each month. Unused imports do not carry over. Plus includes 50 imports per month.

How do I cancel Plus?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. In ReciReel, open Profile → Privacy & Data and tap Manage Plus Subscription, or open iPhone Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose ReciReel, and cancel there.

How do refunds work?

Apple handles App Store refund requests. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple ID used for the purchase.

How do I delete my account?

Open ReciReel and go to Profile → Privacy & Data → Delete Account. The app explains exactly what is removed and asks for two confirmations. ReciReel shows progress and a visible success message before signing you out. If the app is interrupted, reopen it and protected deletion recovery continues; the deleted account cannot be recovered.

Does deleting my account cancel Plus?

No. Apple billing and ReciReel account deletion are separate. Plus users can open Apple's Manage Subscriptions sheet before deleting, but can continue with immediate deletion without canceling. To stop future billing, cancel ReciReel through Apple.

What if I used Sign in with Apple?

ReciReel attempts to revoke its Sign in with Apple authorization during deletion. If an older account has no usable revocation token or Apple is temporarily unavailable, your ReciReel account and data are still deleted. The app then directs you to Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → ReciReel for manual cleanup.

Can creators request removal?

Yes. Open the recipe and choose Report, or email support@recireel.com with the source URL and your creator or rights-holder context. Rights and safety reports can be removed from Discover immediately while they are reviewed.

What is Discover?

Discover is a signed-in recipe catalog. You can browse complete ReciReel-generated recipe cards that have already passed publication review, then add one to My Recipes without generating it again or using import quota.

Does Discover show who imported a recipe?

No. Discover credits the original creator and source platform and links to the original source. It does not show the ReciReel account that privately imported the recipe, or that account's notes, favorites, pantry, or cooking history.

What happens when I add a Discover recipe?

It becomes a normal entry in My Recipes with your own favorites, notes, pantry state, and cooking history. Adding is one tap, does not run recipe generation, and does not use import quota. It still uses one place in the Free library.
